Yoga and gardening is typically practiced in comfy clothes, but whatever your child wants to wear is fine with us. Be sure it’s okay that they get their clothes dirty from gardening, crafting and being outside.
Please pack a harty and nutritious snacks for your children. We will have limited amounts of snacks on hand but only for emergencies. Be sure to fill out the allergy forms.
Gardening gloves and tools are okay but not necessary.
What to expect:
Outdoor Yoga and Gardening is a special bonding opportunity for children. Expect group yoga, breathing exercises, mindful movements, time to relax, silliness, and laughter! Expect being in contact with soil, water, rocks, sticks, grass, bugs, worms. Expect using hand shovels and water hoses. Expect using crafting supplies such as glue, markers, glitter. All of these exploratory was of learning can get messy.
Class will start on time, so plan on arriving about 10 minutes early to check-in. Restroom breaks will happen as we nature walk from Little Howe to the P-Patch and back. Restrooms are at Little Howe Park.
When you arrive, check-in with your In Bloom KYG instructor. Your child will lay out their mats and get comfortable as everyone arrives.
Children participate in yoga in many different ways, including observing (sometimes for the duration of the class!), receiving help, and trying things on their own. This is all developmentally appropriate and totally fine. We engage your child in class, but feel it’s okay for them to simply relax. We all will have fun, and enjoy your child however they choose to participate.
