Who we are

We’re a small business owned and operated by a team of families who are mothers, friends, nature lovers, earth protectors and professionals who have backgrounds in childcare, health, science, medicine, music, teaching and yoga. Together, we’re proud to offer our community In Bloom Kids Yoga & Gardening, a space to explore, learn, play, grow and connect.

Andrea Hildebrandt

In Bloom KYG Founder, Director and Teacher

Andrea is a dedicated teacher and lifelong student of yoga who started her practice over 30 years ago. Her life journey has always included child education. She has been a pre-school teacher, K-12 museum history and physics educator, K-5 garden ed. teacher and currently teaches outdoor environmental ed. for IslandWood, based on Bainbridge Island, throughout the school year.

In the Summer she teaches kids yoga and adult yoga. With certifications in children’s and family yoga, she cross pollinates her expertise as an environmental education teacher with her passion for healing and empowerment. True environmental justice begins with stewardship for our bodies and ripples onward.

She loves the benefits of sharing yoga with young people and community. A child’s perspective is a guiding light. She is always working toward acquiring more yoga certifications, deepening her personal practice through retreats and workshops as she learns from her peers, students and teachers.

Aligning her body with Mother Earth is a lifelong adventure for Andrea, in turn, exploring the diverse ways of being in the world has stoked her studies of earth based cultures. Studying Indigenous ways of being started 25 years ago as a collage student in Minnesota. Currently, she is working towards a 4 Seasons of Indigenous Learning certification based in Canada.

Since living in the amazing Pacific Northwest for the past 24 years she’s grown two beautiful children, cultivated amazing friendships and expanding her offerings in the studio, on the mat, outside and in the garden, inspiring others to grow on their yoga journey.

Andrea brings the love of learning, nature, music, literature, craft, science and play into her lessons. She enjoys spending her free time hiking, playing and running with her dog, being with friends & family, gardening, reading, moon, sun & star gazing as well as cooking.

Haru Komuro

Teacher

Haru comes to In Bloom as a certified yoga instructor, massage therapist and musician. Born in Japan and raised in the Pacific Northwest, she is bilingual and bicultural which enriches the way she connects with people.

She enjoys songwriting and teaching ukulele to her kids and friends. Recently, she began tending a P-Patch garden where she grows veggies, herbs, and flowers to nourish body and soul. Haru loves blending movement, music and nature to create healing spaces where kids (and kids at heart) can explore, breathe, and grow.
