About In Bloom Kids Yoga

Our Methodology

In Bloom Kids Yoga creates space for noticing ourselves and nature by combining the beautiful practices of Yoga and Gardening. We bring to life the culturally diverse ways of earth and body focused lessons that are kinetically driven to notice our place within our natural world. By authentically being immersed outside in a safe, emotionally supportive and noncompetitive way we laugh, share stories, move our bodies, craft and self-reflect. We incorporate books, songs, writing and our observational skills to stay curious and connected. We create small adventures weaving in basic earth science, energy and growing cycles and seasons to help us understand our questions and introduce aspects of indigenous ways of knowing our world. We are dedicated to honoring the beautiful diversity of humans and creatures, and the elements of water, air, and soil too, in our community and our world, with gratitude and in the spirit of stewardship.

Our Mission

Our mission is to plant seeds of community stewardship through outdoor experiences that inspire a sense of place and self-empowerment while creating connection to life and awareness of our bodies all in an easeful, inclusive and joyful way. We hope to inspire the lifelong practice of yoga and gardening in each child’s own unique way. To the best of our abilities, we welcome and embrace children and families of all races, abilities, socioeconomic status, genders, orientations and backgrounds, while respecting the roots of yoga and indigenous ways of being in our world.

Our Vision

We envision a community of learners and teachers who together will be stewards of their bodies and Earth. As we water the soil in our p-patch, we hydrate our bodies. As we plant seeds, we practice positive patience with ourselves. As we see flowers blooming, we notice our beauty too. As we breathe, the plants breathe too.

Our Values

At In Bloom Kids Yoga, we value:

  • A diverse and inclusive community of children, families and instructors who are lifelong learners of nature and themselves.

  • The teacher and the students inside of each of us, no matter the age or background.

  • Acting with our hearts first, while being aware and safe.

  • Being silly and having fun while practicing gratitude and grace along the way.

  • Welcoming everyone who wants to join us! Please check out the Nurtureship Fund if your family could benefit.
