Who we are

We’re a small business owned and operated by a team of families who are mothers, friends, nature lovers, earth protectors and professionals who have backgrounds in childcare, health, science, medicine, music, teaching and yoga. Together, we’re proud to offer our community In Bloom Kids Yoga & Gardening, a space to explore, learn, play, grow and connect.

Andrea Hildebrandt

In Bloom KYG Founder, Director and Teacher

Hello!

I’ll start by saying I’m a student of life. There have been times when my adult-self has lost my child-self. Some early-in-life transits, showed me that letting go of my inner child doesn’t serve me well. Coming back to my youth is grounding and releasing, in turn, sustains the fire of teaching.

What I bring to In Bloom KYG is a culmination of professional life experiences; a pre-school teacher, K-12 museum natural history and physics educator, K-5 garden education teacher and kids yoga teacher. Currently, I’m an outdoor environmental education teacher for a wonderful organization called IslandWood and kids yoga teacher at lovely & creative Ahimsa in Queen Anne.

With the help of friends and family, I created and launched In Bloom KYG in 2025! An endeavor growing in my heart for years! I love being a dedicated teacher and lifelong student of yoga and of our Earth. I started my personal practice over 30 years ago. I have certifications in kids and family yoga with SKY and adult yoga through Aligned Yoga. I cross pollinate my expertise as an environmental education teacher with my passion for healing and empowerment. I believe true environmental justice begins with stewardship of our bodies and ripples onward.

I love the benefits of sharing yoga with young people and community. A child’s perspective is a guiding light. I’m always working towards acquiring more yoga certifications, deepening my personal practice through retreats and workshops as I learn from my peers, students and community.

Aligning my body with Mother Earth is a lifelong adventure for me in turn, exploring the diverse ways of being in the world, which stoked my studies of earth-based cultures as a young adult. Studying Indigenous ways of being started for me 30 years ago as a college student at Mankato, Minnesota where I earned degrees in Environmental Science and Anthropology. It was through a theology class taught by professor Mary Jo Meadow, that I was introduced to a mediation practice. She offered space in the basement of Armstrong Hall in the evenings. With some good buddies and besties by my side I was opened up to the world of yoga. Last year I earned a 4 Seasons of Indigenous Learning certification, based in Canada. I’m about to complete another certification.

Since living in the amazing Pacific Northwest for the past 25 years (all the time in Queen Anne), I’ve helped raise two beautiful children (who are now high schoolers!), cultivated long-lasting friendships, and expanded my offerings in the studio, on the mat, outside and in the community p-patch, inspiring others to grow, explore and expand their yoga journey. I bring the love of learning, nature, music, literature, craft, science, gratitude and play to my lessons and experiences. In my free time I enjoy anything that has to do with being with nature outside. Bringing the inside in is also so fun! I love reading on the couch next to my furry friends, Ghost & Meow-meow, playing games with family, cooking, crafting, journaling and planning my next big-little adventure.
